I kinda liked this movie. The whole cut the finger off thing was kinda gross, but I liked it. I hated that Paris Hilton was in it, but at least she died. Could also use a better cast. 4/10.

The movie was crap.

It was a cool concept that got destroyed in the actual execution. Don't care how cool Paris' death scene was, I've witnessed a million gorey deaths, there was nothing impressive about it. And for everyone who touted the movie with "Watch Paris Die", congratulations, you're giving her more money.

Oh, not to further enrage the commie-lib, but they probably did tear it all down when they were finished. But who knows, maybe they'll film another movie there. Houses for the poor, probably not. Barren wasteland once again, most likely.

No problem, man. I'm cool.

I wonder what happened to the set of "Waterworld"....... LOL

Are you guys lying to sound like true horror fans or have you actually SEEN the original. I'm afraid for it seems like none of you have. Reading other reviews about older films, it would seem the original 'House of Wax' would not be something worth making a remake. The original was a rancid waste of film.

Not only is it's main ploy just the simple fact that Vincent Price is in it but it's slow and there's not one moment of unease or fear in it. The acting is tiresome and fake. It's a complete waste of time.

Now for the remake? Not better then the original? The fact that there was at least one moment of scares/unease/fear makes it a better film. Everyone seems to let the past remakes, opinions of actresses (if you can use the term loosely) and general self-love let them say things that make no sense. In no way is this worst then the original. In no way is it an attempt to save a good film, the original 'House of Wax' was somewhat of a flop, a classic only because of Vincent Price's fame.

So stop trying to appear tough. Yes we know some people won't be scared by this film. Horror movie fans of course aren't going to be scared as easily. But for those who let themselves fall into the film's reality and allow themselves to be scared could enjoy this film.

We know you didn't see the original or have an extreme bias which would stop you from enjoying this film in the least. The truth of that appears when you say tired phrases like,"Stop making boring remakes!?" or "When will they realize that remakes will never be as good as the original."

That arguments done, and the remakes are still coming. So get over yourself and try and watch the film without the nazi bias holding you back.

PS- this is in no way directed towards someone on this post, it's merely a rant about people's ignorance.

As an avid fan of the Vincent Price original, the only thing good about this movie was the Paris Hilton death scene.
