Away down south in the the deep, dark swamps of Arkansas there lives a creature (or does there?) that is half man, half hairy something-or-another. Some folks believe, and some don't...your job is to try and decide for yourself.
The movie is shot documentary style and weaves actual (hopefully) local interviews around Texarkana with cinematic license. This is not a movie that will have you screaming and jumping up in your seat (well, except for an outhouse scene where the shit literally hits the fan...gross not gore though). However, the movie does have some saving graces...
1. It does make you think for about a month before diving off into the middle of a swamp alone.
2. It does show the often campy side to southern folklore.
3. It leaves enough doubt on both sides of the argument to never really resolve the issue in your mind.
4. Most of all...it's 1973 in Arkansas...who wouldn't want to see a slice of that American pie.
Don't watch this movie for excellence...watch it for what it is...1973 reality tv.

I saw this one at the drive in in 1973 with "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth"
The acting is so bad it's good! I love it when one of the girls says: It's godda be.
I laughed so hard I thought I would die.
This is a very scary movie though.
