True blood hate it or love it

I know that the vampire genre is being made into a romance genre about a vampire trying to live an ordinary life bringing me to having mixed feelings about true blood it bores me nothing is in the series to really get me excited about it like my favorite supernatural all tho Jason Stack house is my favorite character it lacks suspence, thrill, adventure and scary parts also the battle with marrian should have been more compelling and had a better end i hope they make it better by season 3 but i have little hope

To start off with, I'm a fan of the series, and yes, I've read all the books.

Personally, I rather enjoy what Alan Ball has done with the Sookie Stackhouse world.  As far as redneck goes, well, yeah, they're in Swampland, Louisiana, there's going to be quite a few hicks.

So far the most interesting character is Lafeyette.  A black, flamboyantly gay drug dealer living in small-town hickville, yeah, I have to give that guy some props.

As far as Sookie going back and forth between Sam and Bill in Season 1.  Well, hate to say it, but that happens in real life, sometimes people are indecisive.  Sometimes people date around.  As far as Anna Paquin's character being a plot driver.  Well, hate to say it, but that just goes perfectly with the whole "urban fantasy" genre of novels.  Its often from ONE point of view, and that's the main character, and we spend an entire book with her (its almost always a her) and she reacts to the various characters.

At least the series tries to give each character their own story arch to follow.

As far as Jason Stackhouse goes, that actor is awesome!  It is hard to play dumb convincingly.

I do agree I'm not impressed with the werewolves.  I do like that they're using real wolves, I think that was a cool idea, but I'm getting kind of tired of vampires being far and away the more powerful of supernatural species.  I can understand them being the top of food chain, but that doesn't mean everyone else is pathetic.  Give me a break!

Overall, I really enjoy this show.  I think its well-written, well-acted, everything about it is well-done.  Okay, so it gets melodramatic at times, but I think it can be a good thing considering the source material also gets a little out there at times.  But don't get me started on what happened when Bill was fucking Lorena, oh my god, that was just ridiculous.

Anyway, I still recommened this show.

I'm sorry but I really don't like that show. Yea the guys are hot but it's still a piece of shit. I read all her books and LOVE! them but True Blood....no thank you. I have better ways of spending my time.

I love the show, but some of their fake accents are ridiculous!  It's always a plus that there are some hot people in it!  I wish they'd show more Pam, I loved her in the books and her character on the show is pretty awesome but a rarity!

I haven't read the books, but I like the TV program. It's much better than most of the dross that's on the box.

The new season looks more promising with better violence despite the ridiculously lame ass weredogs.
