FEARnet How-To Guide

When youre logged in, click My Profile at the top of the screen, then click the Edit Profile link thats midway down the page. YouÆll see your current avatar in the right-hand column. Click Change Photo under that avatar. You can select from one of our avatars, or upload your own photo by clicking Upload Your Own Avatar.

Please note: at this time, we do not allow animated avatars.

Did you go to edit profile first?

Go to edit profile, change avatar, then there will be the FEARnet selections and above them, highlighted in blue will be in small print, upload avatar. That will bring up the screen to either enter the file name or browse your comp files for it.

Hey there and welcome

There are the forums (boards), you found those There's a chatroom that you can access on the upper right menu. On the Video Channels heading at the top you can watch full length feature movies, movie previews/trailers, and some special features like interviews with actors, directors, etc. Horror A-Z is a database that allows you to look up things relating to horror movies, rate movies, and post comments that will go to a thread on the Movies on FEARnet topic. You can search for movies themselves, actors, directors, or keywords such as modes of death or something special to a movie. Say you are trying to find a movie and can only remember that the killer severed hands. You can search "severed hands" and see what comes up. The News & Reviews section has all kinds of horror info such as upcoming DVD releases, reviews of films (more professional than our two cents comments section on Horror A-Z, but most of the time written by FEARnet members), and generic info about upcoming FEARnet stuff, and any kind of breaking news. In Games & Downloads, there are all kinds of download wallpapers, etc., the monthly trivia/poll (sometimes for prizes), and access to the FEARnet store where you can download feature length movies direct to your computer for cheap. Either buy them outright or rent them for 24 hours. Hope you have fun

I think the "avatar" question is covered by the responses above.

As for what you are supposed to be doing...this is a site for you to enjoy yourself, watch videos, and express yourself. You know, a horror "hangout," where like-minded souls come to raise hell.

Here are my recommendations:

1. Browse "Video Channels" for the latest horror trailers and scary scenes!

2. Search "The Web of FEAR" for those movies that bring back the memories...(oh yeah, that was Demi Moore's first movie...etc. ("Parasite"))

3. Spill your guts in the "Community"

4. Get current with the latest "News and Reviews"

5. Test your knowledge and pimp out your desktop in "Games and Downloads"
