Embarrassed Now That It Scared You

What horror flick once scared you and now you are embarrassed that it did? Rosemary's Baby scared the hell out of me when i first watched it at 12. I refused for several years to ever see it again. It wasn't until my late 20's that i had the nerve to watch it once more. I couldn't believe it freaked me out so badly. I felt embarrassed considering how many other horror flicks i'd seen.

A Nightmare on Elm St and Hellraiser really scared me as a kid, but now they are a couple of my favorites.

Pet Cemetery got to me for some reason. I guess I was a little too young for it then.

For me, I would have to say The Exorcist and Burnt Offerings. At the time, the expression on Karen Black's face in the last scene of that movie gave me the creepy chills. That look on her face was unforgettably evil!

I was deathly afraid of the Banshee from the movie Darby O' Gill and the little people. A freaking Disney film!! I still get the chills thinking about her appearance on top of the hill when Darby was chasing the Pooka. It got all dark and stormy as he headed to the ruins then you hear her cry then the orchestra hit the violins and her cry joins the strings from the orchestra as she appears and floats down towards him. GAH I'm still creeped out by it. Hey I saw this back when I was like 6 and it still has an effect on me. So maybe I should not be embarrased by it.

When I was a child Cujo would scare me. When they were trapped in that car with the rabid dog.

The head trap in saw 2 didn't scare me, but the first time I had to turn my head.
