Does sound like Land but Andrea Bianchi's Burial Ground is a "must have in my collection" (and I do), and like Pride mentioned the zombies are thinkers and it has some great effects and a...let's just say..any woman watching this will probably clutch their breast come a certain scene!

Twas Land Of The Dead.

I loved the idea they used in that movie, but I didn't care for the ending at all. =(

How many movies do y'all know of where the zombies can either think or act collectively?? The only one I can think of where they can talk is "!More Brains!!" (though I can't remember what it was called)

was going to answer land of the dead but after seeing it was already mentioned then i was going to mention this one but horrorgrrl brought it up the one your thinking of is return of the living dead in that they were not only kind of smart but could talk but then again thats more of a comedy kind of a joke of a zombie movie still a great movie though also in day of the dead didnt that one zombie learn how to shoot a gun but i think it was cause humans taught him to

In Day of the Dead (1985), the scientist underground was re-training the zombies to do everyday functions, until the military people screwed it all up!
