Not exactly horror, but not exactly anything either. These are more of a hardboiled mystery, with horror and magic mixed in. They're about a wizard who consults for the police in modern Chicago. Ghosts, vampires, voodoo, magic, werewolves. Very cool stuff.

Do you think the upcoming Sc-Fi series will be a benefit or a detriment to the books? I know ANY exposure is good, but if the show stinks, people will be scared off the books.

I can't wait to watch it on Sunday. I don't know if it'll be any good but I have hope.

This might sound sad but I didn't even know it was a book.

I'm just wondering what you guys thought about the show?

Haven't seen the show, but from what I've heard it doesn't do the books justice.

It looks cool, just haven't sen it yet.

I like the series so far...better than most of what's on, actually. But I haven't read the books yet so I can't compare.

meh, I have the opposite problem. No scifi channel, so I haven't seen the show. From what I've heard... not sure I want to. Just from the commercials I can tell they screwed up casting...

Okay, I've been watching the series and am absolutely addicted. It's not necessarily the same as the books, though. At Antichris's urging, I've begun reading the books. I absolutely love them and while the cast looks nothing like they are described and the personalities are somewhat watered down to fit TV, it's not all that far off. I'm enjoying both immensely. I agree with Chris, though, that Bob is way more fun in the books and such a perv. They've only brought out a bit of that on the show, but he just cracks me up.

ive been reading the 1st book of this series for a few days and even though i think the writing is a little simplistic, its still fun to read.but both the book and series are good but differant.

Agreed Draffet. Shakespeare they aren't, but they are a blast.
