I love all of his horror books, however the earlier ones are IMO his best. Swan Song is my fav, but I also loved Bethany's Sin, Night Boat, They Thirst and Stinger the Best. I think Swan Song is even better than King's The Stand.
I love Swan Song I read it over and over.. I bet I read that book 5 times. I just sent it to my son to read and mystery walk. I have read a lot of his work. But it was years ago..I still count Swan Song as one of the best works out there. If you have never read his works you should start with this one.

I have read both over and over and it would be hard for me to choose which one I like best. Each has it's good parts.
McCammon's books are excellent! I rank Swan Song as the second best horror book I ever read.(The Stand is 1) Stinger and Boy' Life were also excellent.
I'm a huge fan of his work...I think he rivals Stephen King. "Swan Song" is one of the best and most disturbing books I have ever read...not quite up there with "The Stand"...King's Magnum Opus, IMO, but close. "They Thirst" is a truly frightening book...I'd love to see it made into a movie. I also loved "Stinger"...
swan song is the best of the end of the world type books out there after reading it i hunted down all of his other books they thirst nightboat fall of the house of usher ect and he is one of the true masters of horror if you can find it there is also a limited anthogy that he did i belive it was called Blue moon great short stories some of his first works also if end of the world books are your thing try to find a copy of Lake of Fire well worth your while
quote: I was a big reader of McCammon. Boy's Life is actually in my top 20 personal list. To bad he seems to have turned his back on horror lit in general?
Anyone know why?
yes he retired much to young but i figure it gets boring setting in front of a typewriter 24/7 and you know even though he was one of the greatest he probably didnt make a whole lot of money of them books!
because i didnt see a lot of robert mccammon fans when he was putting out books

I think I've read only one of his books ... Wolf's Hour? If that was his, it was one of my absolute favorite books of all time.
