Short Story: Touched

I've got a new short story up on my web site called "Touched". This will be told in seven parts, and new parts will be uploaded every three days. Comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I will be doing a final editing round on this story before I move on to a new story for next month.

Here is the blurb for the first part to maybe catch your attention:

Amber McKenzie is a seemingly plain college student who started her day with almost routine predictability. But she experiences a strange sensation of being touched on her way to school, and from that moment forward, Amber's boring, normal life will never be the same. Is everyone 'catching crazy', or is Amber the only one's who's become 'touched'?

Part two of Touched is now out:

The shock of being attacked by her best friend has barely worn off when Amber arrives home to find that no one has left for work yet. Nothing feels right right about the unnerving silence of the house, and yet Amber still goes inside to find out why her father and brothers are still home in the middle of the day, and why her mother hasn't been answering the phone.

Part three is up on the site now:

With her house full of cops and bad memories, Amber finds herself in need of a place to stay. She is searching through her meager list of contacts when a card falls from her organizer into her lap. One phone call and a short drive later, Amber is reacquainted with Marcus Wrigley, a mage of the D&D variety. Marcus has issues, but Amber can't be too picky about her allies.

I've got part four of "Touched" up on the web site, but before I get to the blurb or the link, I wanted to ask for comments on what you think of the story so far. If my stats can be believed, a lot of people have read the story, but only two people have left any kind of comments or feedback. Anywho, here is the blurb for part four:

A trip to the campus for online research nearly gets Amber and Marcus both killed, and Amber is ready to just lay back and call it a day. Yet as the sun sets, Amber must come to terms with meeting Marcus' bizarre roommate, Vicky the Vamp.

Part five:

Amber didn't think her week could get any weirder. She's nearly been killed a number of times, and her new friends have serious issues with reality. Yet nothing she's experienced so far can prepare her for her first trip into Vicky's world when they visit a club in search of information and a "quick bite" for the vamp. Amber has wandered off by herself, and now looking around the bar at the clinetelle, she's starting to wonder if that might have been a mistake...

Part 5

I'm very sorry for the major delay in getting part six out, but we switched ISP's and as is typical in a situation like this, we were without a connection for two weeks. But here, without further delays, is part six of "Touched":

Amber meets the psychic who Vicky was talking to outside of the club before the daemon attacked. While she has many revelations for Amber, the psychic has very few useful answers for her problems. Answers are coming, but from a highly unlikely source...

Part 6

As promised, here is the last part of "Touched", on time:

Armed with a set of water pistols, a pair of silver medallions, and a canister of salt, Amber and her friends head out into an eerily cold night to search for the daemon. They find it has possessed the body of a freak of nature, and the final battle may be more than the trio can handle...

Part 7

I hope you've enjoyed Amber's story, and I'll be starting a new story next week about a high tech army of the undead. Until then, thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thought, either here on the forum, or through my email address on the site.
