Low to no budget this little classic was made by an average joe, Hal Warren a manure salesman on a bet that he could make a sucessful movie on no budget which was about 19,000.(Give or take)The movie was released in 1966 and failed miserably which is an understatement to say the least. Hal wrote, produced, dircted and even stared in this flick. He enlisted a local acting troop to do the movie, for no pay really. It is rumored that the little girl in this flick was given a tricycle for her part, and the dog in the flim about 40lbs of dog food that's how low budget this movie was. The movie is about a family that gets lost "outwest" in the middle of nowhere, and end up at the home of TORGO ( the goat man) and his master, and the masters wives and their "cult". Needless to say "terror" ensues as the possed wives fight for the masters attention and torgo falls in love with the Margaret the lost families wife/mother. The master calls upon the hands of fate to kill the family for their intrusions. Watch the movie to see what happens at the "end" of the movie. This is possibly the worst movie ever made. Many of the actors in this film were rumored to have commited suicide after the film was released. Coincidence I think not. The actor playing Torgo did.
Now what makes this movie possibly one of the best movies ever is the fact that Mystery Science Theatre 3000 put it on it's show in the early 1990's and with their commentary made it a a true comedy. A movie everyone should see because it is so bad it's good in the most funny way possible!
I have seen both versions and I laughed until I almost peed. And I shall forever remember TORGO as one of the best "horror/comedy" characters ever created. I love that goat man, and his stuffed pillow legs.
Torgo: I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the Master is away.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Torgo: There is no way out of here. It'll be dark soon. There is no way out of here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Torgo: There is nothing to fear, madam. The Master likes you. Nothing will happen to you. He likes you.
Margaret: Likes me? I thought you said he was dead.
Torgo: Dead? No, madam. Not dead the way you know it. He is with us always. Not dead the way you know it. He is with us always.

quot;Manos" The Hands of Fate
I have seen it. But it was a MST3K feature about a decade ago and Joel and the bots ripped it apart. I cannot imagine seriously trying to watch it, cause it was quite painful even while people were making fun of it. If you do need to see it be warned- it is what it is, an extremely bad movie.
