Considering the estimated budget of $1m this was barely fair. For a half million more 'Insidious' achieved a great deal more.
It's fairly predictable. No clever anything. Nothing that you wouldn't suppose would happen. But it's not so terrible that you'd turn it off - not that I wasn't web-surfing throughout the entire movie. The story flip-flops pretty much evenly, timewise, between the protagonist's work and home life, only the aberrant home life was interesting, but still nothing greatly lurid.
The writer/director is the exec prod of 'Beavis & Butthead' http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0661484/
Didn't know that show was still being produced. Hmmph.
Seems this near-decade old cherry was his first and only feature film. Interesting.
Can't believe they got BOTH Rip Torn (who couldn't shake the 'Zed' schtick) and the infinitely weird Udo Kier, (the roles this guy agrees to... wow) to appear in this. Anything for a buck. Goodness.
IMDB reviews are interesting; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328077/reviews
Umm... don't know where the semi-glowing 6.4/10 rating comes from.
Can't say that I'd recommend watching this. It's fairly conservative, all things considered. Got a little boobie action, some splatted blood in only a single scene, but no on-camera sawzall human limb amputation. Director bunted on the gore.
Kinda scared to watch the other two lower rated FEARnet web films, now, 'Two Evil Eyes' & 'Boy Eats Girl.' LOL!
