Name that Movie - Quote edition

What were the two nicknames Spielberg gave to the machanical shark? And for bonus points...tell me why?

well the only one nicknamed I can remember and think it was Bruce? As for the other I don't recall and why was it his brother-in-law?

I believe it was nicknamed BRUCE. Named after Spielbergs attorney.

Close, some of you got at least one.

ANSWER: "BRUCE"- after Speilberg's attorney (still is).

             "GREAT WHITE TURD"- the shark rarely worked correctly.

And here's some trivia--we were supposed to see the shark right off, but it rarely worked correctly, which resulted in a lot of re-arranged shots or camera angles or 'simulated' shark attacks. By the time that 'Bruce' actually worked, half the movie had already been filmed! So it worked in Spielberg's favor and made the movie more suspenseful not seeing the shark until the last 3rd of the film! And that gives us the classic we know and love today!!
