The Exorcist... 35 years ago and it still freaks me out... My wife won't even allow it in the house,,,, How's that for freaking out? Don't invite the Devil to dinner.... I haven't seen a movie come close to it as far as scary goes... Blood and guts, yeah.. But scary, The Exorcist has all of them beat...
As I was watching 'The Haunting of Connecticut' I could feel my heart pumping through my ribs. I could see my girlfriend having a smirk on her face (we both love horror) as she saw what I was going through, but I don't think the film made her as nervous.
Previously 'The Mirrors' had similar effect on me and that was a ghost story.

Just recently saw Abandoned and really liked it, pretty scary. As for the scariest of all time, I'd have to agree with The Exorcist. The frist Nightmare on Elm Street scared me too.
Oh, and the original Shining. Jack Nicholson really creeps me out in that.
perhaps a bit off-topic..but to me the scariest is the things that could possibly happen to you..like TOURISTAS..strange country..dont know anybody..no idea what theyre capable of..thats scary..same goes for HOSTEL...these places DO exist..just a thought..peace
Yes, Turistas and the Hostel movies were awesome. I feel bad for the people that weren't aware that those type of things happen all the time (black marketing of organs etc). Watched 2001 Maniacs the other day and thought it was good, pretty sickening too, but still haven't seen a movie that scared the shit out of me for a long, long time.
The Dentist yeah c'mon I'm still scared of the dentist because of that movie and when I was elementary age I saw some movie named Dr. Giggles and that scared the crap out of me. And Demons 1& 2 but still THE DENTIST!!!
Scariest movie ever...

Have you seen these films?
Scariest movie you've seen?
loved the haunting in connecticut was creppy but the exorcism of emily rose was the scariest thing i seen in a long time
It depends on the age that I saw it
for example i saw Fright Night and An American werewolf in London at the age of 7 and couldnt sleep for days,
at the age of 13 I saw The Haunted and it was the same story
most recently The Abandoned but I saw it alone in the dark and in my hospital but again was scary
Out of the subject in the videogame department silent hill was scary but nothing like Fatal Frame
Sweet Nightmares
