Youre right about that! Im spending the day with some friends who arent REALLY into horror but LOVE the holiday and I convinced them as part of the party to play some horror flicks but to tune in to AMC for the show. So I kinda set up a "captive audience" of non horror fans for the event. If the first show is good, it is a GREAT chance to hook non traditional fans into the show and genre. Between about 3 of us there who ARE horror fans and the 8 who are NOT, this is a cool opportunity. I hope its as good as it looks.
no worries i found what i was looking for , jus now need a date!!??
FX UK has agreed a deal with US TV network AMC and has aquired the rights to broadcast new drama Walking Dead in Britain.
The show is due to air stateside in October 2010 and is based upon the comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman. It tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and centres around a small group of survivors traveling across the country in search of a new home away from the hoards of zombies.
Andrew Lincoln (This Life, Love Actually) will play group leader Rick Grimes, Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) will take on the role of Lori Grimes and Jon Bernthal (CSI, Eastwick) will play Shane.
Glad you found the info that fx will be airing it in the UK. Fox picked up the international distribution and plan to air it in 120 countries and 30 languages "about the same time as AMC". I am not sure where you find the dates country by country, but for all of those outside the US, odds are you will get it sooner than later (legally that is)

I saw the first episode on the net and it's really good. I hope it compares to the UK's Dead Set. That series was amazing.
