Iconic and cantankerous Psycho director Alfred Hitchcock was never a man to mince words. In a recently discovered 1964 tape from BBC archives, Hitchcock made comments that may be surprising to some fans of what is widely regarded to be his most notorious and terrifying work. Apparently, viewers of Psycho got it wrong.

Some really cool news via Dread Central writer Heather Wixson: the first-ever CineMayhem Film Fest will kick off at Muvico Theaters in Thousand Oaks, California on March 2 and 3. The festival is a launch event for Dread Central’s Indie Horror Month.

Before Hannibal Lector there was Corky and his foul-mouthed ventriloquist dummy, Fats. 1978’s Magic is an amazing movie for many reasons, not just because it's about a killer doll. It boasts and impressive cast including Anthony Hopkins, Ann-Margret, Burgess Meredith, and the creepy Fats voiced by Hopkins.

Despite the fact that Jane Levy claimed to hate filming Evil Dead, she is back for more horror. THR reports that she has signed on to the horror thriller, In a Dark Place. The Crow: Salvation’s Bharat Nalluri will direct.
