Lionsgate gives ?Conan? Nu Image
According to Variety,com, Nu Image/Millennium Films has teamed up with Lionsgate to strike up a North American distribution rights deal for a series of Conan the Barbarian films! Based on the Conan the Barbarian character created by Robert E. Howard, the screenplays are set to be written by team Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. Though production was slated to begin in 2008 the writer?s strike has obviously held up production. But with Lionsgate?s recent agreement with the WGA and Nu Image/Millennium Films? plans to pen a similar deal, fan favorite warrior Conan may just hit the big screen sooner than expected in 2009.
