News has it that James Marsters, a.k.a. Spike from everyone?s favorite horror-themed TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will play the main antagonist on the season premiere of the BBC?s Doctor Who spinoff (and anagram) Torchwood. The second season premiere will air on BBC America this Saturday, January 26th, which closely coincides with the show?s premiere in its UK homeland, on BBC proper. The rumblings around the net lead us to believe that the tone of the show will be more consistent this season (as opposed to the radical shifts it underwent in Season 1), and what better way to set that dark, albeit humorous, tone than with a guest spot by Spike!? Marsters will play a mysterious captain who aims to wreak havoc in order to find something hidden on Earth (and could be a potential love interest for Torchwood chief Captain Jack Harkness). It?s vague?it?s evil?we love it.
