After a fairly dismal January, the horror fans can finally look towards the four Tuesdays in February -- and unfortunately they're not all that hot either. But there's always a few diamonds in the rough, a few imports worth exporting, and all that jazz. So let's see what's on tap today...

Storm Warning -- I reviewed this derivative but stylish UK thriller a while ago, but I'll definitely be giving it a second spin. Another unexpectedly solid pick-up for the Weinsteins' Dimension Extreme banner, and get this: It's from the guy who directed Urban Legend and Valentine! You won't need a fresh DVD review from me, since the disc has no extras on it, but give it a rental and you might have a good time.

Croc -- From the Genius Products Maneaters Series (yes, I'm serious) comes a movie about ... a killer crocodile. Yes, another one. But considering its predecessors in the Maneaters Series (like Prey, In a Spider's Web, and Maneater), it's gotta be an improvement. I hope. Can it be worse than Lake Placid 2?

Killer Pad -- Three goofballs find a sweet mansion ... only to discover that it's a portal to hell. All signs point to horror AND comedy, plus it was directed by Freddy himself: Robert Englund. Looks like potentially good cheesy fun. We'll find out soon enough.

Weirdsville -- I kept missing this genre concoction at all the different festivals, but I've heard generally positive things. Taryn Manning, Scott Speedman, and Wes Bentley star in an offbeat horror comedy that deals with drugs, satanists, and medieval knights. From the director of Pump Up the Volume, no less.

Also today: Cheapies, indies, and amusing little titles include Deadhouse, Home Made, Demon Seduction, and Naked Beneath the Water. Fair warning: Charles Band has a new one called Dangerous Worry Dolls.

Next week:

Yikes. Perhaps one of the lamest digital horror days I've ever seen. Seriously. Get your old classics ready.
