America Ferrera Cast in 'Toward Darkness'
It's an all around good thing that Variety.com has announced Ugly Betty herself will move Toward Darkness. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean the world will be free from the smack-you-over-the-head message of "Ugly women are capable of working in the fashion industry" and being nice too!? It just means that Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, will star and executive produce a new bilingual thriller helmed by Antonio Negret. Peace Arch Entertainment has recently purchased the domestic rights for a spring release of Toward Darkness, which also stars Ugly Betty pal Tony Plana, David Sutcliffe and Roberto Urbina, of Steven Soderbergh?s Che.
