Roland Emmerich's '2012' Picked Up by Sony
Earlier this week we reported on Roland Emmerich shopping around his apocalyptic script 2012, well now the script has a buyer, according to Hollywood Reporter. Roland Emmerich?s spec script was picked up by Sony, and a tentative July 10. 2009 release date has been set. 2012 mixes the Mayan Calendar (which sees the world ending in 2012), natural disasters, and a huge cast of characters all trying to deal with it. All this film needs now is either A.) Will Smith punching an alien in the face or B.) Dennis Quade walking from D.C. to New York City in a day, and we?ll have a sure fire Emmerich classic!
