We've got a busy weekend ahead of us, folks. FEARnet is splitting its forces into two teams, and hitting two major conventions--Texas Frightmare in Dallas and Wondercon in San Francisco. Expect to see quite a bit of coverage going up from these events in the form of news and exclusives (Wondercon alone will have preview presentations on everything from Iron Man to the new X-Files movie, with top movie talent in attendance). And, hey, speaking of exclusives, Wondercon premiered the brand-new 16-page Hellboy: The Golden Army comic book earlier today. Intended as a prequel to this summer's film of the same name, The Golden Army details the rise of the film's titular band of soldiers, and three editions of it will be available at various conventions leading up to the film's July release, each featuring one of the film's three heroes--Hellboy, Abe Sapien, and Liz Sherman--on its cover.
The Wondercon edition is kind of special though, since its cover features a full-page photograph of that comely firestarter Liz (as embodied by the lovely Selma Blair). We expect copies of these babies to go fast, which is why our first order of business at Wondercon was to snag one of them off the Dark Horse booth's table!
For a five-page preview of the Hellboy: The Golden Army comic, be sure to check out the official Hellboy II production site now.
