Alexis Nolent's 'Cyclops' Adapted for Big Screen
It seems like we can't go a day without sci-fi graphic novel adaptation news, and today is no different than any other! According to Variety.com, Warner Bros. has recently acquired the film rights to Alexis Nolent's Cyclops. As of now, James Mangold will helm the feature while Cathy Konrad (Scream, Scream 3) and Alexandra Milchan (Mirrors)will produce.
Cyclops is the appropriately given title to a story about mercenary forces in the near future whose soldiers fight for freedom and justice and wear Cyclops-like cameras on their helmets that broadcast to a central command as well as residential living rooms. But like any other story, one of the mercenaries chosen to lead an elite squad begins to realize that they aren't fighting for freedom and justice as much as they are being forced to fight for commerce. We?re sure that this is something that SOMEONE out there is interested in.
