Sci-fi fans, prepare to freak out! The Sci Fi Channel announced at its upfront presentation in New York that many new series will be hitting the airwaves next year, and they all sound pretty damn exciting. Firstly, a two-hour pilot has been greenlit for Caprica, the prequel to everyone?s favorite sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica. Also greenlit is a new series created by Rosario (Grindhouse) Dawson, called True Believer, which follows a comic book nerd who teams up with a real life superhero to learn the ropes of superheroism and save the world. The sultry siren is also involved in a web series called Gemini Division, about a detective who?s husband is murdered when he uncovers a global conspiracy. Also on deck is the Sci Fi/Virgin Comics joint, The Stranded, about a group of people whose pasts as they know them were a lie, and they come to find that they were born on a different planet. Along with a few other interesting programs, will be the not-so-mini-series Alice, a six-hour modern-day retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland story. Wow, that?s a lot to digest?time to break out the Pepto Bismal.
