Julie Benz to Star in 'Saw V'
If it?s March?it must be Saw V casting announcements! The newest arrival to the Saw franchise has just snagged up one of its first official casting choices, as reported by Variety. Julie Benz (Punisher: The War Zone) is set to star in Saw V, which hits theaters October 24th. The film, directed by the production designer on three of the previous Saw films, David Hackl, began production March 17th. I wonder what kind of terrible torture devices will befall her? Nothing too severe I hope. I love me some Julie Benz. Not only did the gal star in Buffy and Angel (as the luscious Darla, the vamp who turned Angel into a vampire), but she?s won choice roles in genre faves like Rambo, Dexter (as our favorite serial killer?s girlfriend), and the upcoming Punisher sequel. And when you factor in that she was married to the friggin? Crypt Keeper (actor John Kassir) for nine years, ya gotta admit?this is a girl after every geek?s heart! Now if only someone would sign Benz to co-star with Kristin Bell in a film about rival lady wrestlers, life would be perfect...
