'Gabriel' Director Shane Abbess to Helm 'Source Code'
Universal has just tapped Shane Abbess to direct the time-continuum, sci-fi thriller, Source Code, originally to have been written by Ben Riply (Species III, Species Awakening), according to Variety.com.Famed overseas for his first film, Gabriel, a gothic sci-fi thriller he co-wrote, directed and produced for under $200,000, which was later picked up by Screen Gems, his latest venture will be a larger scale project for the filmmaker, and involve big-shots Mark Gordon (10,000 BC) and Lawrence Inglee (The Day After Tomorrow) as producers. Topher ?Venom? Grace?who should be embarrassed by his role, heck, his mere involvement, in that disaster known as Spider-Man 3?was formerly attached to star in the film. His involvement, however, has not been confirmed.
