We?re here at the New York Comic Con this weekend, running wild to bring you the latest news straight from the celebs, and boy did it sure pay off earlier tonight! While sitting in on the X-Files: I Want To Believe panel with the movie's writer-director (and X-Files creator) Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, we not only caught a glimpse of the film's first trailer--released for the first time tonight outside of last month?s Paley Festival--we also got a tender piece of meaty X-Files comic series info!

First, from the short trailer shown, it seems that the focus of this film is more on the nature of human fear and the iconic dynamic between the Mulder and Scully characters within the X-Files realm, rather than complicated government and alien conspiracies. And though the trailer was in true X-Files fashion--evasive and sometimes frustratingly ambiguous, with story lines and characters kept concealed by quick edits and flashy imagery (which is still quite awesome)--it was loose-lipped Spotnitz that really gave us the treat of the night!

Spotnitz actually ended up revealing some information that DC comics was attempting to keep under wraps until tomorrow at their panels!! According to Spotnitz, ?DC is launching an X-Files comic series,? giving Mulder and Scully a well-deserved, much-appreciated life beyond TV and film. Longtime fans will recall that Topps previously held the license to produce X-Files comics, but this marks the first-time the house of Superman, Batman, etc. is throwing its hat into the X-Files ring. And why not? Superhero fans want to believe too!
