This weekend was a bit of a difficult weekend for horror, with the only truly new release, Pathology, coming out in only 46 theaters and pulling in only $50,000. But fear not! Horror didn?t totally get the shaft this weekend. Coming in strong at third place was Prom Night, which brought in an impressive $9.1M to make a total, two-week gross of $32.5M. That?s a considerable drop from last week, but it?s no slouch. 88 Minutes, the Al Pacino thriller about a man who receives calls from a killer saying he?s got 88 minutes to live, premiered at fourth place this weekend, taking in $6.8M. Even The Ruins was able to stay above the million-dollar mark, earning $1.2M for a combined total of $15.8M over three weeks. Even when horror?s getting hit, we still stay strong!
