If you hear the name Ghostrider and cringe a little bit expecting to be bombarded by a lazy Nicky Cage comic-book adaptation, well, don?t. We just received news of a joint venture between Ghostrider Entertainment and CP Production principles Michael Cerenzie (Black Water Transit) and Christine Peters, who plan to co-finance 10 genre flicks in the next three years!! According to Variety.com, Cerenzie and Peters are entering this joint venture to finance flicks with anywhere from $8 to $20 million budgets. The CP genre division will be headed by former lead of Maverick Films? Maverick Red genre sect, Eric Thompson.

Though the division?s development is still in the earliest stages they have provided the titles of two of their anticipated 10 releases, including Rites of Spring, written and directed by Padraig Reynolds--which he talked about in our recent exclusive interview with Reynolds. The film is about ?what happens when a father, intent on avenging his murdered son, crosses paths with a serial killer targeting teens.?

The second film, Slaughter, one of the winners at the 2007 Slamdance film festival, written by Nathan Brookes and Bobby Lee Darby, but set to be directed by Victor Garcia?helmer of the FEARnet original series 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails.
