Zombies of Mass Destruction!

Is it possible that in all the confusion, our current administration was actually looking for Zombies of Mass Destruction rather than those pesky weapons? And, even more astonishing, is it possible that Red 5 Comics found the genocidal-minded undead first? Well, regardless, Red 5 is completely ahead, offering the newest action-horror series from Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), titled ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction.

According to Red 5 Comics ?With the financial, human and political costs of combat in the Middle East growing, the United States military has adopted an unusual, but highly effective, new weapon? zombies. Air-dropped into the deadliest hot zones, the walking dead of ZMD: ZOMBIES OF MASS DESTRUCTION indiscriminately infect every last warring insurgent ? on either side of the conflict. Specifically engineered to be photosensitive, once enemy infection becomes complete by dawn, both the originals and newly created zombies dissolve as a means to control widespread and accidental zombification. This allows live soldiers to enter and safely occupy the now-combatant-free territory. However, this plan takes a deadly turn when one of the U.S. zombies, dubbed ? ZOMBIE ZERO ? fails to dissolve at the expected time, and begins to wreak havoc in the Middle East by creating others like him. This leads the U.S. military brass to send in a special operative to quietly take out Zombie Zero and his minions before their existence becomes known to the rest of the world.?

Grevioux says of his latest venture, ?ZMD: ZOMBIES OF MASS DESTRUCTION is a bit of a return to my horror roots? I came up with what I felt was an interesting twist on the genre and I?m thankful that Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood were open to the idea.?

After critically acclaimed series like Neozoic, Abyss, and Afterburn, the seven-month-old Red 5 Comics plans to make ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction a six-issue bimonthly series starting in July.
