With Comic-Con San Diego rapidly approaching, the convention's organizers are teasing fanboys with a blog-worthy cover to the most recent issue of their official Comic-Con magazine. WorstPreviews got a hold of the newest edition, which features the unveiling of Samuel L. Jackson?s character, the Octopus, from director Frank Miller's highly anticipated film adaptation of the classic comic The Spirit. In the flick, Jackson (whom you might know from every one out of three movies you see) plays a meek lab assistant who reinvents himself as a psychotic killer, who then conspires to destroy the fictitious Central City, the backdrop for the film?s noirish superhero tale. While Frank Miller?s interpretation of the Octopus may look like a strange fusion of Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange and R.Kelly, you can be sure Sam Jackson isn?t going to take any shit from no Denny Colt. This unveiling comes just after news that fans will get to see the film this Christmas as opposed to the previously announced release date of January 2009.
