Magnolia, the studio behind the 2005 monster epic The Host, announced a deal with filmmaker Jennifer Lynch, daughter of Academy Award nominee David Lynch, to pick-up her out-of-competition Cannes entry Surveillance. Magnolia will release the film, which stars Julia Ormond and Bill Pullman, through its genre label Magnet films according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie centers on the aftermath of a violent killing spree on a desolate desert highway. A fall release is scheduled.
