After Dark Films has begun working on the line-up for the third edition of ?Horrorfest: 8 Films to Die For?. Among them, Variety tells us, will be writer-director Sean Ellis? The Broken. The film stars Lena Headey (300, The Brothers Grimm) and Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under, The Visitor) and centers on a radiologist who begins to lose control of her life when she spots the spitting image of herself driving down the street. While attempting to unravel the mystery, she finds that friends and family may be involved in the plot. (Sounds like the other day when I saw my own personal doppelganger, Brad Pitt, walking down the street.) The Broken?s pick-up follows recent news that After Dark, for the first time, will produce two of the other films slated to be part of the series?Perkins 14 and Faithless?both of which are scheduled for production starts this month. No release date has been mentioned, but it can be assumed the films will drop near Halloween, as the previous two Horrorfests have done.
On a side note, we at FEARnet have a special treat for you blood thirsty victims...a review of The Broken from last year's Sundance Film Festival! Yeah, we know we hooked it up...
