John Cusack Set to Star in Roland Emmerich?s '2012'!
Does John Cusack realize that when he?s signing on for a film that he?s not solving a Sudoku puzzle? Yes, our old pal Lane Meyer, and star of 1408, is ready for action again, as Variety has reported he?s signed a deal to top-line Roland Emmerich?s apocalyptic thriller 2012. Apparently Emmerich (10,000 B.C., The Day After Tomorrow) likes movies where an omnipresent force of nature is the villain as much as Cusack likes starring in movies whose titles have no association with the English alphabet. This new project centers on the year 2012 (See that? See how the title works into the movie?), which, according to the Mayan calendar, will be the end of human civilization. But I?m hoping that civilization ends before they release this movie. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men, Serenity?yeah, we know he rules) is set to co-star.
