Three More Join Disastrous '2012'
Alright. Interior Oval Office. The world is in grave danger. Zero hour is upon us. And in this time of great deliberation we look to our rock, our go-to-guy, our president?Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon. Yes, terrifying I know but apparently Roland Emmerich thinks that when the world?s fate rests on the back of one man, its Danny Glover. Glover (Saw, Witness) is in negotiations to play the President of the United States in Roland Emmerich?s new disaster-flick (plotwise and critically) 2012, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Jumping onboard alongside Glover are Thandie Newton (Mission: Impossible II, The Chronicles of Riddick) and character actor Oliver Platt (Flatliners, Lake Placid). Newton is to play Glover?s daughter in the film and Platt will be his Chief Of Staff. The film is about the year 2012 which marks the end of civilization according to the Mayan calendar. John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also set to star and filming will begin in July - depending upon whether or not the actors decide to strike. Boy, with a loaded cabinet like President Glover and the oafish, dunderheaded villain from Beethoven it?s no wonder the world is going to end.
