CineTel Films Ready To 'Spit' Out Remake
I Spit On Your Grave?not just the uber-rude thing to say to any one given person. No, it?s also the title of the classic 1978 revenge film that Variety reports CineTel Films is slotted to remake. The original was reviled by critics for its graphic depiction of sex and violence. Sex and violence? Yup, now I?ve got your attention. The film centers on a woman who is abducted, brutally attacked, raped, and then left for dead. However, the woman survives and subsequently goes on a revenge mission ala Charles Bronson, targeting the men responsible and then dispatching them in unsavory ways. The rights for the remake were purchased from writer/director/producer of the original Meir Zarchi (from the planet Klatuu) and despite CineTel?s lush history of straight-to-DVD releases, they plan to make a theatrical run with Spit?we?ll see.
