'Castlevania' to Hit the Wii?

Let?s be honest? horror video games have been struggling. The pulse-pounding, nail-biting action that was once a hallmark of horror gaming has been absent on the next-gen consoles. With the exceptions of Dead Rising and Resident Evil 4, it feels like ages since I?ve had a good scare in digital form. Titles like Condemned 2: Bloodshot (or Resident Evil: Boring as I?ve dubbed it) and Clive Barker?s Jericho (which is the second most exciting video game of last year behind Roman Polanski?s The Pianist: The Video Game) have failed to put the enhanced peripherals of XBOX 360 and PS3 and the Wii to good use. However, an old friend could be back to rally the haunted troops of CG terror for another round, as G4 is reporting that Nintendo is squaring up for a new adventure in Castlevania!! While it?s yet to be announced, there is quite a stack of evidence supporting the site?s claims. For example, Konami has trademarked the title Castlevania: Judgment, some leaked Castlevania DS shots feature a ?Wii? option, and some PR text from a Castlevania manga reportedly read ?cross-promoted with the 2008 video game releases for the Nintendo Wii and DS.? Umm...so what you?re saying is it?s true then? Castlevania is one of oldest supernatural/horror titles in gaming history, with over 20 different releases under the banner to date. I don?t know about you, but I already feel the unquenchable thirst for blood taking hold. Stay tuned?
