Jack Black: No 'Man-Witch'!

Man-Witch. No it?s not that delicious sloppy-joe-in-a-can treat that single men everywhere have been force-feeding themselves for some thirty odd years now. It?s actually a movie starring Jack Black. Or was a movie starring Jack Black! According to a report from Variety this morning, Black has disengaged himself from the project and moved on. Several different reasons have been cited for the split ? witch (Damn, I?m funny...) can only mean one thing: no one has any idea why he?s really left the project. The film?s premise revolves around a guy (formerly J.B.) who learns he has witch-like abilities and then goes to a special school where he scores a job teaching female witches-in-training. The film is being directed by Todd Phillips (Old School, Road Trip), and had a tentative production start date of January. However, the project is obviously in need of some recoup time after losing its star. Personally I don?t understand why Jack Black wouldn?t want to be part of Phillips? recent spate of films, which includes the likes of Academy Award-winners School for Scoundrels and Starsky and Hutch.
