Pink Eye ? its not just a good excuse to stay home from school or work anymore. Not true, it?s still one of the best excuses. Yes, the extremely contagious (yet sexy) disease which we all know and love is now hitting the big screen ? with a film that manages to incorporates ole Pinky in no way, shape, or form. According to the Hollywood Reporter, studio Halo-8 has snagged the rights to the indie horror flick Pink Eye. The film marks the return of acting/directing/writing trio of Melissa Bacelar, James Tucker, and Joshua Nelson ? the same team behind Lionsgate?s Skinned Alive. The film revolves around ?a masked lunatic who escapes a small-town insane asylum where patients are subjected to bizarre drug experiments. A limited theatrical release and stint in the emergency room is planned for this summer, followed by a few days of recovery and a DVD bow Sept. 30.
