This week FEARnet visited the Saturn Awards in Universal City where we watched as Cloverfield terrorized the ceremony winning Best Sci-Fi Film honors. However we also learned that it could be the last time Cloverfield will be terrorizing anything for a short while. Director Matt Reeves met the press with news that the Cloverfield sequel isn?t exactly dead but ? ?on hold? for the time being. Reeves listed several reasons for the slow gestation of the project stating that he and fellow creators J.J. Abrams and Drew Godard are still toying with the project and that they are waiting to see if they can come up with something ?as fresh as? what the original Cloverfield was. Reeves also conveyed that he felt the sequel had to be as exciting as the first not only to the filmmakers but to the fans as well. At least these guys are taking their time instead of pushing out poorly planned sequel one after the other. On the other hand monster glory will not be completely absent. This morning we?re getting reports from Variety that another popular mutant will be rising from the banks of the Han River for another round of mayhem. Korean production shingle Chungeorahm and China's Stone Man Films have announced that they will revisit monster movie the Host with a story that will reported revolve around ?a calamity caused when people ignore a monster due to their desire for money?. Ummm?whatever that means. Hey, as long as it involves that gorgeous looking thing from the first movie eating human beings, I?m in. The pic is budgeted at 12 million dollars and is currently being scripted by Ning Hao.

Already missing Cloverfield? Well check out our pics of the cast and crew all dolled up at the Saturn Awards.
