You knew this was coming, you just probably expected it to be AFTER the Dark Knight made it to theaters. While the upcoming sequel to Batman Begins is still weeks away from swooping into cineplexes across the country, people are already hounding director Chris Nolan about when we?ll get to see the third installment of this incredible franchise. Recently SciFi.com caught up with Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento) and asked him just that. About what it?d take to bring him back on for numero tres, Nolan joked: ?Enormous amounts of cash.? However Nolan quickly got serious, realizing that the hearts of fanboys were hanging in the balance, and said this: ?I don?t know. The film (Dark Knight) to me is not actually finished until the audience sees it and tells me what it is, really. So it's too early to say for all those kind of reasons. The other thing to be said on the subject is we absolutely did not feel in taking on the idea of doing the second film that we could in any way hamper ourselves or disadvantage ourselves by saving things for another film. ... I think that's a mistake people have made in the past, thinking too much of the future. I think you have to put all your eggs into one basket and make as great a film as you can, and that's what we've tried to do.? Great response from a great man. Personally I?ve just gotta say first ? what are you thinking asking the man about a third film already?! This one hasn?t even been released theatrically yet! SciFi.com, when you take a girl on a first date ? do you call her from the other side of the table during dinner and ask her if she wants to go on a second? On the other hand, I?ve gotta say ? please come back, Chris Nolan!! The Dark Knight hits theaters on July 18th.
