Darren Aronofsky Does 'Robocop'?!
The Hollywood Reporter recently ran an article in which a nugget of fanboy gold was buried?the new Robocop could possibly have Darren Aronofsky (The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream) at the helm. While the news is just talk right now, Robocop (slated for a 2010 release) would fit itself nicely into the director?s schedule. And while it does seem like an odd choice for such an abstract filmmaker, Aronofsky has shied away from writing after the debacle that was the Fountain, fitting him in perfectly with the blockbuster mentality?i.e. hire a talented visionary and give him a script. Sounds like it could be a perfect fit. Now the only question remains?who?ll wear that iconic robo-suit?
