Big Red Smashes Big Willy
Weekend box office proved to be a shocking surprise as the quirky, clunky, big red monster that was Hellboy II: The Golden Army overcame the star power of Will Smith in Hancock 's second week . Hellboy grossed a total of $35.8M on this opening weekend (besting the original's opening by about 12M), overtaking Hancock?s $33M. In third came the Brendan Frasier starrer Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, with an opening weekend take of $20M.
