So I?m reading Variety this morning, minding my own business, when I came across a set of words I thought I?d never see strung together in this lifetime or any other?Scream 4. That?s right, you heard me! Buried within an article about the deal struck between Showtime and the Weinstein Company is an official announcement for the latter studio?s sequel to Wes Craven?s wildly popular slasher trilogy which was put to bed with its third installment in 2000?until now. While absolutely nothing is known about this film, it?s certainly shocking to think that the franchise will be resurrected almost a decade after it?s inception?not to mention that most of its principal cast members have slipped into anonymity since then (seriously, when was the last time you bought a ticket to see a Neve Campbell film?). Could this be the valiant return that the infamous ghoul-faced killer has been pining for? Fans can only hope so?
Wondering what else the Brothers Weinstein are upto? Check out the casting update for Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards...
