'Turistas' Director Finds Safe Haven in 'Sanctuary'.
What could be safer than a tropical paradise in which tourists are chopped up to have their kidneys sold on the black market, as they are in Turistas? Any place, say you? Well wrong you are indeed (Why am I talking like Yoda today?), because Turistas helmer John Stockwell has signed on to explore another dangerous place?only this time in the tropical paradise we all know as? Maine? Variety's reporting that Stockwell has finalized a deal with Lionsgate and Sobini Films to direct the supernatural thriller Sanctuary from a script by Stephen Susco. Sanctuary, based on the novel Bad Men by John Connolly, revolves around a mysterious woman who takes refuge on a haunted island off the Maine coast. No word yet on when the project plans to start production, but when there is you know where to come get it!
