News: What the Fear

'Destruction' for the 'Masses'

by FEARnet, Tue., Jul. 22, 2008 9:15 AM PDT

Anyone know who came up with the phrase ?time is money?? Any takers? No? Well I don't know either. But I?ve got a hunch that it was Benderspink Media ? because they certainly waste no time. The Hollywood Reporter has got news that only a week after Red 5 Comics title ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction hit shelves, Benderspink has already snagged the property for a film adaptation. Benderspink, which specializes in comic-to-film turnover (they're currently involved in productions of Y: The Last Man, Drafted, Pencilneck, and Pet Robots), will be producing the film. The comic, written by actor-turned-writer Kevin Grevioux (Underworld ? which he acted in and contributed writing to) centers on a new government weapons program that drops zombies, designed to be photosensitive and dissolve by a set time, into war zones at night to destroy the enemy population. But after one fails to self-destruct in the Middle East, a team of elite soldiers must enter hostile territory to stop a growing zombie army. I don?t know about you, but that sounds FRIGGIN? AWESOME to me. Look out for more news about ZMD?s start date and cast here at ol' FEARnet.
