With the excitement of Comic-Con mounting, and the event now just a week away, the people behind the Resident Evil franchise are prepping to blow your zombie-lovin? minds out the back of your heads. Yesterday footage went online from the fifth installment of the Resident Evil video game series after it?s great reception at this week?s E3 Expo (I?m sure more will follow at Comic-Con), but now the official website has been launched for the soon-to-be-released CG-animated feature Resident Evil: Degeneration. The film takes place in Raccoon City seven years after the ?Umbrella Incident,? when a zombie resurfaces and attacks an airport causing mass chaos and infection. And guess what?s even better? The trailer for the film has a familiar face for fans to feast upon?that of our old friend Leon Kennedy (what a hunk)! The flick is directed by Makoto Kamiya and produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi (best known for his involvement in the VG titles Devil May Cry 4 and Resident 4). Not only is there some sweet stuff on the site, including a trailer, production blog, and news feed?but there is also info about the Resident Evil: Degeneration panel at Comic-Con. Should definitely be sweet, and considering that we at FEARnet will be covering Comic-Con all next week, we should have some juicy details for you from the front lines. So keep checking back for updates.
