'Rocky Horror'... Music Television?
Things that I would be alright with MTV airing that have ?Rocky? in the title: Rocky, the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, John Denver?s Rocky Mountain Christmas? Things that I abhor which MTV plans to air with ?Rocky? in the title: Rocky Horror Picture Show. Yes, FEARnetians, a sad day has come indeed. Seemingly the anti-MTV, Variety has reported the 1975 cult musical is getting prepped for a makeover by the uber-?trendy? (and I say that with all due disdain) network. The remake is a product of the partnership between the exec-producer of the original Lou Adler and Fox Television Studios. Adler stated that he?d ?like to see it shown a year from this coming Halloween, but that?s up to MTV.? No director or cast has been announced but you can be sure that it?ll star Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, or some other combination of people you?d never dare casting. Along with an empty roster, the film is also absent of a start date. MTV did however; say they plan use the original screenplay ? with a possibility of new songs not featured in the original (for shame!!). Well, maybe fans of the original can do the time warp again and land themselves several years in the future when this film, which promises to offend the original in almost every sense, has been forgotten.
