'The Dark Knight' Steps on 'Brothers'

The Dark Knight upped its tally some more this weekend and broke yet another box office record ? fastest film to make 300 million dollars. I know, I know ? at this point, its like ?who cares?? But there are two big box office releases this weekend who might have had their feelings hurt considering their opening efforts didn?t even stand a chance against DK?s vigilante box office patrol. X-Files: I Want To Believe and the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy Step Brothers both got the smack laid down on them during the final hours of Batman?s 10-day opening run as the Bat hauled in 75 million dollars more while X-Files scrounged 10 mill and Step Brothers, 30. While this isn?t exactly a surprise for box office analysts, next week could really get interesting as the Caped Crusader will face off with The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, who?s budget (175 mill) matches that of the Knight. So good luck, fellas -- turn on the Bat Signal and steal the spotlight from that pesky Brendan Fraser.
