I bet you were wondering what producers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne were doing since New Line Cinema collapsed like a New-tron star (haha ? get it?!), I know I was. Well according to recently hired team of psychics at the Hollywood Reporter, tomorrow Shaye and Lynne will announce their first post-New Line project ? although it has been posted (and I guess technically announced) by THR because their belief in the clairvoyance of their experienced team?s premonitions is THAT strong. The stars have aligned and spelled out that the duo will re-team for an adaptation of Issac Asimov?s sci-fi epic the Foundation. The project, which was formerly in development at Fox, centers around a society that has figured out how to predict the future based on a method called psychohistory and sets up a foundation devoted to scientific research to protect itself and ensure its survival. The book series wraps around a timeline that spans thousands of years and involves a vast line-up of characters which has caused studios to shy away from the large nature of this project. Apparently Warner Bros. (who New Line merged with after their demise) is feeling up to the challenge.
