Poor, poor Brendan Fraser. First Encino Man isn?t the most critically acclaimed film of all time. Then George of the Jungle isn?t the most critically acclaimed film of all time. Now Brendan?s hung up the loin cloth and broken English ? and he still can?t hack it!! This weekend Fraser-starring vehicle The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor failed to generate enough heat to steal the box-office from that pesky Caped Crusader as the Dark Knight reeled in 43.8 million (just falling short of the 400 million dollar mark), trumping the Mummy?s 42.4 three day tally. While this isn?t such good news for Rob ?Mrs. Vin Diesel? Cohen, Chris Nolan and co. keep climbing the all-time gross ladder with the number eight spot and on the heels of Spiderman 3?s position at seven. What?s more interesting is that after 17 days the Dark Knight has nabbed just under 395 million dollars, Titantic (the number one domestic earner of all time at 600.7 million) only pocketed 157 million after the 17 day mark. Does the Bat have Kate and Leo?s coveted spot ?on top of the world? locked down? Looks more and more like it?
